In-Home Care by Casa Del La Luz Hospice

Casa was looking to create images for their in-home hospice and palliative care that portrayed the heartfelt compassion of the casa care specialists and the benefits of patients being able to spend time in their own homes, continuing to do the activities they love with their families. Working with Meredith, Communications Manager for Casa de la Luz, and Katie, Senior Designer at Godat Design, I guided them in creating scenarios with volunteers and medical professionals, non-actors, to create the images of the care that Casa provides. The biggest challenge was coordinating the use of two homes, volunteers for four simulated families, and many medical professionals, who had little time to spare. Having a clearly defined, planned out shot list and schedule helped the day come together perfectly, and using artificial lights balanced with natural light allowed the images to be bold, yet still feel authentic.
